PINEVILLE, La. - The Louisiana College women's basketball team, already off to the best start in school history, continued its winning ways here Thursday night with a 78-76 victory over Loyola-New Orleans, easily the closest game of the season for the Lady Cats.

For the first time this season, LC (10-0) found itself down at the half, 44-38, but managed to rally and outscore the Wolfpack (9-4), an NAIA school, 40-32 in the second half to secure the win.

Leading the charge for LC was senior forward and preseason All-American Tillisha Givens, who posted a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double as well as five of the Lady Cats' 18 steals on the game.

Junior guard Roslyn Wilmer put up 19 points with sophomore guard/forward Natosha Gottlieb adding 17 points and six steals.

Senior guard Briana Lewis was good for 13 on the night.

Jackie Padilla was tops for Loyola with 19 points. Keiva Council put up 12 points and five assists, Jasmine Brewer 11 points and five assists and Rachael Nolan 10 points.

Next up for Louisiana College will be a Jan. 6 visit to American Southwest Conference foe Hardin-Simmons, a game with a 5:30 p.m. tip.
