PINEVILLE – The Lady Cats made short work of a quality team Saturday, defeating the highly regarded McMurry women 70-40 in the American Southwest Conference opener for both teams.
Louisiana College (2-0, 1-0) led 36-20 after the first half and ran away with the game in the second.
Three Lady Cats reached double-digit scoring, chief among them Christy Pantallions, who scored a game-high 21 points, pulled down three rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked a shot and produced three steals.
Tillisha Givens added 15 points and eight rebounds and Roslyn Wilmer put up 11 points in the win.
Freshman post player Voneshia Williams was also solid in the game, scoring eight points and pulling down eight rebounds.
