SAN ANTONIO – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer team conceded two early goals and was never able to recover in a 6-1 loss to the Texas A&M-San Antonio Jaguars Saturday afternoon at the TAMUSA Soccer Field.
Louisiana Christian (4-5-2, 1-1-1 RRAC) trailed 2-0 after Texas A&M-San Antonio (6-2-1, 2-1 RRAC) scored goals in the third and 11
th minutes.
Aran Hernández Vivar had a header saved in the 13
th minute, and another LCU header was stopped in the 28
th minute. The Wildcats recorded six saves before halftime, including a team save right before the first half whistle that kept the deficit at two goals heading into the break.

th and 57
th minutes before
Juan Sierra finished an assist from
Manuel Sosa-Villaseñor in the 62
nd minute, cutting the deficit to 4-1. Sierra converted the Wildcats' only shot of the second half. The response was short-lived, as LCU conceded a penalty-kick goal in the 64
th minute and another goal in the 78
th minute to complete the scoring.
Ricardo Gross anchored the Wildcats in goal for the opening 64 minutes, making nine saves while allowing five goals.
Tyson Cole played the final 27 minutes, made a save and allowed one goal.
Louisiana Christian put three of their four shots on goal and earned four corner kicks, two in each half. LCU faced 25 shots, including 19 on target, and seven opposing corners.
The Wildcats remain in San Antonio for Monday's make-up match against Our Lady of the Lake, which was originally scheduled for this past Thursday, but was postponed by the weather forecast. Kickoff of Monday's match against the Saints (4-3-2, 1-1 RRAC) is set for 1:30 p.m. at the OLLU Soccer Field.
