SAN ANTONIO – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball team saw all 10 players who entered the game score, but it wasn't enough in a 93-58 loss to the Texas A&M-San Antonio Jaguars Thursday evening at the TAMUSA Recreational Sports Center.
Louisiana Christian (1-13, 0-8 RRAC) enjoyed an early edge as
Amiyah Simpkins hit a three-pointer to tie the score at 3-3 after LCU's second possession of the game. That was followed by a
Carlea Owens lay-up to put the Wildcats up 5-3.
Jakiya Thompson broke a 5-5 tie with a three-pointer to put LCU back up 8-5. A Thompson steal resulted in a fastbreak lay-up by
Maddison Carey which made it 10-7 Wildcats.
However, a 5-0 run by Texas A&M-San Antonio (11-4, 8-1 RRAC) gave the Jaguars the lead for good. That push was the start of an 18-5 TAMUSA run, giving the Jaguars their first 10-point lead of the contest.
While all 10 Wildcats who played scored, only
Kylei Leblanc hit double figures. She finished with 16 points while also grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. She also assisted on two LCU baskets, blocked two Jaguar shots, and came up with a steal.
Carey was the next highest scorer with nine points.
Thompson led the Wildcats in assists, getting five while grabbing four boards as well.
Owens filled up the box score with six points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The Wildcats wrap up their five-game road swing and the week in San Antonio on Saturday, taking on Our Lady of the Lake. Tip-off against the Saints (3-12, 2-7 RRAC) is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Mabee Gymnasium.
