Leblanc’s Double-Double Not Enough at LSUA

Slow Second Half Allows Generals to Pull Away to Open 2026

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University got the seventh double-double of the season, and third in a row, from Kylei Leblanc, but the Wildcats were outscored 39-20 in the second half, falling 77-50 to the LSU Alexandria Generals Saturday afternoon at The Fort.
 
After giving up the game's first six points, Louisiana Christian (1-12, 0-7 RRAC) went on a 15-4 to take its largest lead of the contest at 15-10 with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
 
With LCU leading 17-15, LSUA (5-7, 4-3 RRAC) went on a 12-0 run which started at the end of the first quarter and lasted into the second quarter to take a 27-17 lead and the Wildcats would not lead again. The decisive period was in the third quarter where the Generals, which led 38-30 at halftime, outscored LCU 26-11 to pull away.
 
Leblanc led the way in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks, finishing the contest with 22 points, 11 boards, five steals, and a pair of blocks in the contest. She hit nine of her 18 shot attempts in the contest, including two of five from deep.
 
Maddison Carey was the lone other Wildcat to score in double figures, finishing the contest with 11 points off the bench. She also had five rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
 
Carlea Owens grabbed eight boards, Amiyah Simpkins contributed seven points.
 
The Wildcats wrap up their five-game road trip next week with a pair of games in the Alamo city, first taking on Texas A&M-San Antonio on Thursday. Tip-off of Thursday's contest against the Jaguars (10-4, 7-1 RRAC) is set for 5:30 p.m. at the TAMUSA Recreational Sports Center.
