Lobdell’s First Career Hit Goes Yard For A Game One, Senior Day Walk-Off

PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program could not have scripted a better start to Senior Day as senior starter Morgan Louviere shut out Xavier (Louisiana) and sophomore Caydance Lobdell sent the second pitch of the fifth inning sailing over the wall to set off a massive celebration at home plate as the Wildcats run-ruled the Gold Nuggets in game one, 8-0 in five.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Louviere was the show-stopper, baffling the visitors from the Big Easy with five shutout innings in which she surrendered zero walks for the fourth time in 2025 and struck out a career-high seven hitters.

  • The exclamation point was provided by Lobdell as the Hill Community College transfer finally got into the hit column during her 16th official at-bat as a Wildcat, showing off a flair for the dramatic as she sailed a beautiful moon shot into the Pineville sky and into the trophy case for her first career hit / homer / RBI / run scored to end the contest early.

  • Senior Emma Hunt made a huge stride towards the record books with a career-best four stolen bases, putting her three steals away from tying for the program's all-time record with her 101st through 104th swipes following a 1-for-1 showing that included a pair of walks, two runs scored plus a single.

  • Madelyn Bourgoyne collected an RBI single in each of her plate appearance, coming around to score on one of them as she was the lone student-athlete to register multiple ribbies.

  • Bevan Hartnett was the other player who was donning Orange and Blue to go for extra bases, cranking a double as part of her 2-of-3 outing at the dish.

  • Senior Bella Houck also went 2-for-3, driving home Hunt on her fourth inning single through the 5-6 hole.

  • Mariel Medrano was equally disruptive on the base paths, taking three bases with her lightning speed in addition to a base on balls, a ribbie, a single, and touching the dish.
