Cats Get Back On Track, Best Jarvis In Game One

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Cy Fontenot continues to roll through opposing lineups, tossing the third complete game over his last five starts, limiting JCU to eight baserunners (seven hits and one walk) across seven frames, striking out four batters and ceding a lone run, ending the game at an even 100 pitches.

  • Without Braden McLin, the Wildcats possibly do not score as the right fielder drove in all three of the team's RBIs on a groundout and a two-run single back up the middle in addition to swiping the only base by either side.

  • His teammate on the opposite end of the outfield was the benefactor twice from McLin's knocks as left fielder Brady Huffman went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a double.

  • Harrison Waxley was a perfect 2-of-2 on the afternoon prior to exiting the ballgame while Braden Trull was the other Cat to cross the plate after reaching via a single and Tyler McKenna drew the only walk allowed by the Jarvis starter on top of a base knock.

  • Elsewhere on the lineup card, both Braxton Cooksey and Nick Lorio rumbled into second base for a double apiece to round out the hit tally.
