MOBILE, Ala. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program has been on the verge of some huge momentum building wins this year but have unfortunately fallen just shy of getting over the hump more times than not as the Rams of Mobile outlasted the Wildcats in the opener, 4-3.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 

• Lexi Broussard disrupted the flow of the ballgame with her legs, reaching on an infield single to third base, tying a career-high of three stolen bases, and scoring twice while one of her plate appearances required no movement to reach courtesy of a hit-by-pitch.

 

• Miah Broussard (no relation to Lexi) gave the Wildcats a lead just five batters into the day, belting an RBI-double to right field in addition to pitching a complete game in the circle (six innings, three strikeouts, one walk).

 

• Mobile followed Broussard's lead with three unanswered between the first and fourth frames before Bella Houck knotted things up, driving a two-bagger into the gap for a clutch two ribbies, plus she was the only Cat to draw a walk.

 

• Bevan Hartnett contributed a double of her own, both Reagan Duplechain and Claire Cullen picked up knocks, and Madelyn Bourgoyne came around to score once.
