Softball Uses Season-High 18 Hits To Snap Losing Streak

FORT WORTH, Texas –The Louisiana Christian University softball program awoke from its offensive slumber to the tune of 18 hits in game one, halting their six-game slide in game one at Arlington Baptist, 7-2.

Five Wildcats collected multiple hits, ten players had at least one knock, and LCU doubled its previous season-best for stolen bases with eight.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Emma Hunt led the merry-go-round on the base paths, going 4-for-5 with a team-most three RBIs, three steals, one of the club's two doubles, and was the only student-athlete to score more than once (2).

  • Freshman Reagan Duplechain made her collegiate debut one to remember, picking up her first three career hits over four trips to the plate.

  • Lexi Broussard had one hit but it was a doozy, smashing her second triple of the year / her tenure on "The Hill", driving in the game's first run.

  • Addison Greak started the contest and got the win, improving to 5-3 after a pair of scoreless frames in which she struck out two while Morgan Louviere bridged the gap between Greak and Carly Carpenter with a nearly identical line.

  • Speaking of Carpenter, she was in prime form, registering seven of her nine putouts via strikeout en route to a three-inning save, the first of her career.

  • Mariel Medrano, Isabella Battaglia, and Bevan Hartnett all joined the multi-hit parade with two apiece while Medrano logged a run, a ribbie plus a steal while Hartnett reached safely in all three plate appearances (two singles and a walk), also swiping a for the first time in 57 games in a Wildcats uniform.
