KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Louisiana Christian University women's tennis program sits just five points outside of the NAIA Top 25 after voters rewarded their 2-1 record since the latest iteration by throwing 24 more points in the Wildcats' direction, staying put as the 27th-best team in the nation.
The Orange and Blue are 6-6 on the year including 4-1 versus fellow NAIA competition, knocking off yet another (RV) team on the road at Mobile with their lone setback coming against #13 Dillard.
Looking back, the Cats have put together wins over the currently #20 Our Lady of the Lake Saints, #29 Mobile Rams, and #31 LSU Shreveport Pilots with upcoming matchups opposite #11 Xavier (Louisiana), #8 Loyola (New Orleans), #10 LSU Alexandria, and a second showdown with LSUS over the next two-and-a-half weeks, all at home.
The court-dwelling ladies welcome four separate teams into the Richard L. Crowell Tennis Center this week for the LCU / LSUA Tournament; Thursday vs. (RV) LSU Shreveport (1 p.m.), Friday vs. Texas Wesleyan (1 p.m.), Saturday vs. #11 Xavier-Louisiana (10 a.m.), and Saturday vs. Texas A&M-Texarkana (2 p.m.).
