BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program are mired in a prolonged offensive drought as they have scored two runs over its current six-game slide, falling in its fourth shutout over that timeframe as Southern University came away with a 2-0 triumph thanks to a two-RBI double in the fifth.

• Brooke Ross was locked in outside of that one two-bagger, yielding just those two runs across four hits with zero walks and a pair of punchouts over five full.

 

• The two table setters at the top of the lineup card, Emma Hunt and Lexi Broussard, tried to get the offense going as they were the only ones to reach safely on more than one occasion, with Hunt singling and walking (along with a stolen base) while Broussard collected a base hit plus a bean ball.

 

• Others who joined the hit parade were Jordan Dauthier, Bevan Hartnett, Carley Koch, Isabella Battaglia, and Mariel Medrano in addition to Bella Houck's walk, all starting position players with the exception of the pitcher and flex, reached at least once.

 

• Carly Carpenter produced a 1-2-3 sixth in the fourth appearance of her Freshman season and Claire Cullen stole her second bag of the campaign.
