Â
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program is a buzz saw at present, taking its 11th straight victory and handing UHV nearly as many losses this weekend (3) than they had all season prior (4), answering with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth before holding on for dear life to secure a 3-2 triumph and sweep the Jaguars back to Victoria, Texas.
Â
The guys have orchestrated an impressive turnaround in just a few short weeks, going from 8-14 and 0-6 in the Red River to five games north of .500 (19-14) plus a spot in the upper-half of the standings at 9-6 among league play.

Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Braden Trull may not have drove in an RBIs, but he was the catalyst for the offense in game three, posting a perfect 3-for-3 outing at the plate with a double and two singles while scoring two of the Cats' three runs and also getting down a crucial sacrifice bunt.
Â
- Tyler McKenna said, "anything you can do, I can do better", going 2-for-2 on top of reaching twice on ball fours, crunching the club's other two-bagger.
Â
- The pitching was the driving force behind the sweep as they held the potent Jags to two total runs over 25 innings with Andrew Yuratich leading things off with 3.2 frames of one-run ball, striking out five and walking just one, but did not go long enough to earn a decision as he labored through 111 pitches.
Â
- Cowan Alfonso was the next in line and got the win, moving to 2-2 on the season as he did not allow a hit over a season-best two-and-two-thirds.
Â
- If it were a collegiate statistic, Seth Whitney would have received a hold for his 1.1 frames of scoreless baseball and Colton Williams cleaned up the rest, registering a four-out save for his second finishing move of 2025.
Â
- The runs were produced by three separate players:
Â
                        * An RBI-single to left-centerfield for
Hunter Gotreaux in the fourth (who also got on-base courtesy of a hit-by-pitch).Â
                        *
Adrian Aguilar made it back-to-back RBI-singles on the following pitch.Â
                        * And finally,
Caleb Duhon drove in Trull during the sixth as he skillfully faked the bunt to pull in the first baseman before tapping the ball in the vacant spot he left behind for the go-ahead ribbie.Â
- Braden McLin and Brady Huffman contributed to the ten-hit total for Louisiana Christian while pinch-running extraordinaire Zac Bacilla came through with his fourth career stolen base, second of the campaign.
