Â
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program pitched their second straight shutout, the first time without allowing a run in back-to-back games since doing so in three straight from March 4-5, 2022, shutting the #10 Houston-Victoria Jaguars down and out to win the series, 3-0.
Â
The Orange and Blue are now winners of ten consecutive ballgames, its longest such streak since peeling off 15-in-a-row in the midst of the 2019 regular season.
Â
It was the third goose egg on the opposite scoreboard this year and have held the visitors to a mere seven hits over 16 frames so far after they averaged nearly nine runs a night prior to the weekend.
Â
It was LCU's fifth triumph over a NAIA Top 25 adversary in 11 such tilts, making the Jags the first team to show up multiple times on the list that includes #13 MACU, #12 Kansas Wesleyan and #22 Tabor.

Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- After the starter Jacob Bareswill was relieved after three outs, Coleman Haltom and Kade Linn took over from there as Haltom improved to 2-0 in his long relief role that saw him tie his career-high of five innings while averaging a strikeout per frame while Linn collected his first career save, the rare three-inning variety, by holding UHV hitless with only a single walk given up in addition to five more Ks.
Â
- Harrison Waxley got the party started in the first, lifting a sacrifice fly to deep left-center to score Braxton Cooksey, who reached painfully on a bean ball.
Â
- Brady Huffman and Braden McLin had the team's two extra-base hits within a span of three batters, both clubbing doubles as McLin replaced Huffman on second base for the second score of the nightcap.
Â
- Tyler McKenna and Adrian Aguilar got on-base twice apiece with the former singling, walking, and touching home as the latter notched a knock on top of a HBP.
Â
Next:
 Â
- Taking the series was a massive boost to its NAIA Tournament at-large hopes, but a sweep on Saturday at noon could cement the Wildcats back onto the national radar as we hit the two-thirds mark of 2025.
