Close Call At First Goes Cats’ Way To Topple Texas A&M-San Antonio

PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program benefited from a bang-bang judgment call by the umpire on the final out of game one that would have tied the contest at six if she was ruled safe, escaping with a 6-5 triumph over the TAMUSA Jaguars.

The Wildcats were hitting the outfield gaps with precision in the first matchup, doubling their previous season-high for two-baggers with a half-dozen by five separate student-athletes.

  • Jordan Dauthier was the player with multiple doubles, scorching two of them while driving in a run via a safety squeeze.

  • The trio of Bevan Hartnett, Carley Koch, and Lexi Broussard all picked up multi-hit outings with the first two notching doubles and RBIs as the last did not but made up for it with two runs scored plus a pair of stolen bases.

  • Emma Hunt was the solo Wildcat to reach safely three times, registering two of the team's three walks in addition to a two-base hit, swiping two bags as well.

  • After never recording a single save over her first 24 appearances at LCU, Morgan Louviere now has two in consecutive ballgames, getting that elusive 21st out.
