Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Powerful redshirt freshman outfielder Gavin Vordick cranked his first career multi-homer game and the first by a Wildcat this season, connecting for his team-high fourth (3-RBI) and fifth (solo) long ball plus a walk to account for a personal-best four ribbies.

  • Braden Trull finally got on the board after hitting six fingers last season, lifting a ball deep into the NOLA night as part of a 2-of-5, two-RBI showing.

  • Braden McLin did his best Rickey Henderson (R.I.P) impression by leading off the contest with a blast (his first at LCU) en route to a two-hit, two runs scored, and one walk evening.

  • Arguably, the best offensive day might have come from a man who did not go yard as Adrian Aguilar was the prototypical contact hitter, going 4-for-5 with a double and three singles in addition to stealing two bases.

  • From a pitching perspective, the spotlight shone brightest for Kade Linn and Cowan Alfonso with a shoutout to Seth Whitney as well for keeping the bullpen's string of 18 straight innings without an earned run dating back to the eighth of the Wiley game.

                     * Linn got the win courtesy of 3.2 scoreless frames in which he sat down five on strikes with just four reaching base.

                     * Alfonso went three-up, three-down in the ninth to collect his fifth save of the campaign and second of the day.
