ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program was able to rack up double-digit hits on the 14th-ranked Crusaders' top pitcher but could not capitalize on its opportunities with runners in scoring position as it was shutout in a 5-0 loss to end the Generals Showdown.

• Brooke Ross did some outstanding damage control, coming out of the makeshift bullpen with one out in the first and holding WCU to just two runs, seven hits, and a walk over the remaining 5.2 innings, sitting down two on strikes.

 

• Claire Cullen made a diving grab at the hot corner along with the best average in the game at 2-for-3 (.667) while Jordan Dauthier went for two on her lone hit, making it just before the tag was applied.

 

• Bevan Hartnett and Mariel Medrano each collected a pair of singles over their combined eight at-bats and Lexi Broussard reached twice on a knock plus a hit-by-pitch.

 

• Other players to make a mark in the offensive box score were Carley Koch (pinch-hit walk), Madelyn Bourgoyne (single), and Bella Houck (single).
