Offense Finally Breaks Through For Much-Needed Win vs. #22 Tabor

STERLINGTON, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program snapped its 15-inning scoreless streak immediately, rolled up a season-high 16 hits, 12 runs, five doubles, and a .400 batting average then held off a string of five unanswered Bluejays runs to win in "extras", 12-9 in eight.

The hit parade was widespread as seven players logged multi-hit outings and the entire starting lineup contributed at least one knock.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Jake Messina might have only had one hit, but it was the dagger, getting ahold of a two-RBI blast to cap the contest's scoring in the top of the eighth and put a dozen on the scoreboard.

  • Of the seven Wildcats to notch a pair of hits, the duo of Tyler McKenna and Harrison Waxley picked up a walk to reach thrice on top of two ribbies and a run scored each, McKenna also doubled.

  • Braden Trull was 2-for-4 (.500) with a free pass as well, however, instead of RBIs, he scored a team-most three times with a two-bagger mixed in.

  • On a warm early February Saturday in which the ball was flying around the yard, reliever Cowan Alfonso got his first victory donning the Wildcat logo in addition to a save he picked up earlier in the year, going one-and-a-third with nary a walk to close things out.
