Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Wiltz Steps Up To Guide #6 Men’s Basketball Into RRAC Semifinals

ALEXANDRIA, La. –The sixth seed Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program received clutch production from an unlikely source to propel themselves into the Conference Semifinals for the fourth time in the last five seasons, defeating #3 Our Lady of the Lake by a final score of 72-67 on Friday morning.

The offense took care of the rock which usually translates into success, turning the ball over only eight times while improving to 3-1 on the year when committing less than ten.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Kevin Wiltz, a junior transfer from Southern-Shreveport, was the story of the game, pouring in season-highs of 19 points, eight free throws (8-of-9, 88.9%), four field goals (4-for-10, 40%), three long balls (3-of-8, 37.5%), and just his second multi-assist contest (2).

                        * What makes this such a shocking development was the fact that coming into the tournament, the Breaux Bridge native was averaging merely 4.5 points over 9.4 minutes per game with a previous-high of 12 points, personifying the "Next Man Up" mantra.

  • All-RRAC First Teamer Devin Carter is now a perfect 25-for-25 in terms of scoring in double-figures, making nearly half of his shots (6-of-14, 42.9%) and exactly half of his attempts from deep (4-for-8, 50%) on his way to 18 points in just 21 minutes before fouling out.

  • All-RRAC Second Teamer Bryce Weinmunson has been an iron man on the court all year and it continued in the biggest game of 2024-25, playing 35-of-40 (87.5%) minutes whereas he produced 14 points and cashed in on all six of his freebies as well as tallying just his second multi-block outing (2), the only two recorded by LCU.

  • The squad's Champions of Character representative, Drew Tebbe, led the team with a trio of assists, put six points on the board, and collected four boards.
