#4 LSU Shreveport Pulls Away Late In Series Opener

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program went step-for-step with one of the last unbeatens in the NAIA through six full innings, but the fourth-ranked Pilots pushed across a pair of runs in both the seven and eighth frames to gain just enough separation to win, 6-2.

  • Tyler McKenna was responsible for two of the club's five hits (40%) and its lone knock that went for extra bases (double).
 
  • Nick Lorio had the one RBI that was put into play without outs being recorded, giving the Cats a 2-1 lead in the fifth with a single through the middle that scored Harrison Waxley, who had singled and then had stolen second two batters later.
