PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program is still in search of its first league win of the season as Texas A&M-Texarkana narrowly edged out the Orange and Blue in the opener of a rare Friday twin-bill by a one-run, 5-4, margin.

• For the second straight doubleheader and the third instance, Jordan Dauthier deposited a ball over the left field fence in her first at-bat of the series, this time a solo bomb to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead and their lone extra-base knock of the contest.

 

• Bevan Hartnett drove in a pair of runs over three at-bats, once on a sharp single and the other on an RBI-groundout to short.

 

• Addison Greak got saddled with the unfortunate loss, ceding just two earned runs in four frames with one strikeout.

 

• Bella Houck and Mariel Medrano each reached the base paths safely twice as the former had a knock plus a walk and an RBI while the latter coaxed two free passes with a run scored.

 

• Morgan Louviere kept the Eagles off the scoreboard during the final two innings, allowing two hits but nothing more.

 

• Emma Hunt singled and scored once, both Lexi Broussard and Karlie Stine each got hits, Hannah Harrison crossed the dish as a runner, and Candace Hobbs stole her first career base.
