HAWKINS, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball team saw
Tomario Thomas, Jr. nearly triple his best scoring output in a game as a Wildcat as LCU ended its 10-game skid with a 91-84 win over the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at Earl W. Rand Gymnasium.
Thomas, Jr. came off the bench and hit 10 of his 17 shot attempts, connecting on eight of his 13 shots from above the three-point arc, and go three-of-six at the stripe to account for his 31 points against the Bulldogs (5-6, 2-5 RRAC). His previous best single game point total was 11, which he had done three times this season. He also had three rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Justice Kelly went six-of-nine from the field, hitting a three-pointer as well, on his way to 18 points. He also had five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
Bryce Weinmunson filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a block, and a steal.
Larry Lee was one rebound from a double-double, getting 11 points and nine rebounds to go with an assist and a blocked shot.
Drew Tebbe was a perfect six-of-six at the charity stripe to finish with 10 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.
The Wildcats (2-10, 1-5 RRAC) hit 52.8 percent of their shots in the win, hitting 12 shots at a 52.2 percent clip from beyond the arc.
LCU begins the new year with by making the short drive across the Red River to finish the season series against LSU Alexandria. Tip-off of the game against the Generals (7-5, 4-2 RRAC) is set for 3 p.m. in The Fort on Sat., Jan. 3.
