Women’s Hoops Dominates On The Glass To Stave Off Saints

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program collected its fourth win of the campaign and first of 2025 by completing the season versus Our Lady of the Lake University, holding on for a 57-52 triumph.

The Wildcats and Saints were tied for the eighth and final RRAC Tournament slot coming into the evening, so the victory puts LCU approximately two games ahead of the pack in the race.

The Orange and Blue destroyed the hosts on the boards, amassing more than 60 rebounds for the first time in nearly seven years on their way to racking up a +22 margin (63-41).

Defensively, the ladies from "The Hill" held OLLU to the second-lowest scoring output of the season, stayed out of foul trouble with a year-to-date low of just nine, and logged double-figure steals for the second time.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • DaKayla Howard stands just 5-foot-5 and plays guard, but she went off for a career-best ten rebounds for the first time in her 70-game tenure on top of a team-high quartet of assists while never touching the bench.

  • Princis Goff had double-double vision for the sixth instance of 2024-25 and her 13th as a Cat, reeling off a season/contest-best dozen boards, seven of which came as second-chance opportunities, as she led the club in scoring at 16 points, splashed two of the squad's three triples, two dimes and steals apiece, plus a block.

  • Kylei Leblanc was the other student-athlete to put together double-digit points in the midst of a last-second venue switch, dropping a season-high 13 points and six buckets on 13 tries (46.2%) in addition to seven rebounds.

  • Deja Tanks seemingly fancies the number 11 when it comes to the rebounding department, tying her season-most for the fourth time in 12 matchups (33%) plus eight points despite spending only 15 minutes on the floor.

  • The last personal-best that came from this win was Jakiya Thompson, corralling a season-high six boards while McKayla Price added a much-needed nine points.
