#18 Gold Nuggets Ease Past Women’s Hoops

 
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program kept within five points of #18 Xavier in each quarter played, but when spread out over the course of a full 40 minutes, the game wound up finishing at 71-57 in favor of the home team.
 
The ladies tied for its best blocking performance of the year, sending away ten XULA field goal attempts with five different Cats contributing to the tally.

  • Jakiya Thompson dropped ten points in a reserve role, making a career-high four free throws in as many attempts and was one of three visitors with multiple assists (2) joining Goff and Kylei Leblanc.
 
  • Speaking of Leblanc, she brought in seven boards and tied for the contest's most blocks at three plus the small forward / center connected on her first ever money ball.
 
  • Deja Tanks made her presence known at the block[ed shot] party, racking up a personal-record of three in addition to ten rebounds and seven points, all off the bench.
 
  • Kaitlyn Antilley matched her career swat total in just one evening down on the bayou, rejecting two shots for her first multi-block affair in Orange and Blue.

  • The two squads will run it back in Pineville on Saturday afternoon with tip-off slated for 1 p.m. as LCU looks to open February with a bang.
