Women Bounce Back To Beat HTU From The Free Throw Line

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program visited the charity stripe early and often, using its freebies to pull away late for its third win in its last four games by an 83-68 decision.
 
The women from "The Hill" made 31-of-40 (77.5%) free throw attempts, its most makes over the past nine years (January 2, 2016 vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor) while drawing 23 personal fouls, knocking two student-athletes out of the contest due to foul issues.
 
LCU has found its offensive groove as the calendar flipped to 2025 as their top three scoring days have come in the past week.

  • Princis Goff took full advantage of the Rams' strategy could best be described as "Hack-a-Princis", getting to the line 19 times and sinking 17 of those for a superb 89.5% free throw percentage. She ended the afternoon with a game-high 25 points and a team/campaign-high three steals in addition to a career-most quartet of assists.
 
                    * Goff became the first player since NCAA Division III All-American Tillisha Givens in 2010 to knock down at least 15 free throws over a single game.  
 
  • Breyionce George dished out a half-dozen dimes for the second time this year while also contributing a personal-high six free throws as a reserve.
 
  • Kylei Leblanc has turned into a double-double monster, exploding for both 12 points and rebounds for her third consecutive game with ten-plus in those categories, making a season-best six buckets (6-of-9, 66.7%) and blocking a contest-best four shots too.
 
  • Add Deja Tanks to the long list of women with career numbers from the free throw stripe, swishing a career-best 8-of-8 on top of her third multi-block outing as a Cat, a dozen points, and six rebounds.
 
  • McKayla Price was the fifth student-athlete and third among the starters to hit double-figures on the scoreboard, putting together a 7-for-11 (63.6%), 14-point showing.
 
  • All nine active players tallied at least one rebound, seven players scored, six players stole at least one ball, and five separate ladies rejected a Huston-Tillotson field goal attempt.
