Wildcats Top Performers:

  • While he might not have had a save, Juan Diego Ramirez can now say he played a complete game between the pipes at the college level and earned a win, getting the starting nod and taking it the distance for his first career triumph.

  • Pedro Sao Tiago put together his second multi-goal affair in the past four matches, scoring the game-winner in the fifth minute before nailing the coffin shut on the visitors with another in the 84th.

  • Joao Pedro Giraldez Franco was one of the key reasons behind the team's blistering three-goal in ten minutes onslaught immediately following the opening whistle, assisting Lucas Lima's opening goal at the 2:48 mark before setting up Sao Tiago's net-seeking missile just two minutes and four seconds later.

  • The veteran, who has now played in more matches as a Wildcat than all but one man, finally logged his first ever affair with multiple assists.

  • Shakeem Walters shook off a nine-game scoreless string on Thursday and made up for it with his second straight contest with a goal.

  • Adrian Amoros Navarro added three more points to his program-leading total with both a goal and an assist (career leader in that stat as well) as he set a new personal-benchmark for shots (8) as well as a season-high for shots-on-goal (5).

  • Thiago Lopes got on the board with his first assist as a member of the university on top of four shots plus two on-target attempts while Juan Sierra tacked on his third assist of the season too.

  • Sergio Pita Martin is rounding back into his all-conference form, slowly getting his legs under him after missing the beginning of the year with a nagging injury by getting off season-highs for both shots (5) and on-target shots (3).

  • Dylan Credeur made his 2024 debut and came through with his first two career shots in addition to his first shot-on-goal.

Record Book Watch:

Career

  • Giraldez Franco leapt up from unranked to sixth on the all-time assists list, giving him seven for his tenure while tying with both Collin Yammarino (2010-13) and Felipe Escobedo (2006-09) for the second-most matches played in program history, appearing in game #70.

  • Taylor Walker broke a tie with Joe Saverino (2006-09) for eighth on matches leaderboard similar to Franco above him with his 60th tilt as a Cat while Pita Martin wiggled free of his deadlock with Lewis Lauve (2005-06, 2008) for fourth on the shots list as he has now launched 90 shots.

Team

  • The club's sixth win (including two ties worth 0.5 victories each) moves them into sole possession of seventh in single-season victories, their four-match unbeaten streak is up to the sixth-longest, its 61 points scored is already up to eighth all-time, and the 17 assists put them at seventh.

Game

  • The four-score margin of victory ties for the sixth-biggest in school history, its 15 points, five goals and 28 shots ranking fifth, the five assists were good enough for fourth, and their 17 shots-on-goal was the second-highest behind only 20 taken at Millsaps in September of 2021.

  • Amoros Navarro had one of the best shooting contests, volume-wise, that the squad has ever seen, recording the third-most shots and shots-on-goal for a single match.
