HOBBS, N.M. – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program started its Red River Athletic Conference slate with a perfect weekend, improving to 2-0 during league play for the third straight season as they dispatched the University of the Southwest (New Mexico) Mustangs twice in consecutive sets on the road.

- Katie Spell had a weekend to remember out in the Land of Enchantment, exploding for a team-best 25.5 points (4.3 p/s), 21 kills (3.5 p/s), and three service aces (0.5 p/s) in addition to hitting .263 with 19 digs (3.17 p/s).

                  * Spell made a compelling case for her first career RRAC Attacker of the Week selection, notching season-bests for both points (18) as well as kills (16) while collecting her first double-double of the year (16 kills and 11 digs) in the finale.Â

- Emma Cother stayed red-hot, putting together an average of 8.83 assists (53 total) and 3.67 digs (22 total) on her way to logging yet another double-double on Saturday (29 assists and 13 digs).

- Leah Stamps was her usual dynamic defensive self, posting 29 digs for a 4.83 median.

- Jessica Smith and Abby Revell each set career-highs over the two-day stint approximately ten hours west of town as the former tallied 11 digs (3.67 p/s) while the latter had seven (2.33 p/s) in the squad's conference debut.

- The Orange and Blue have now won three matches in-a-row, tied for the fourth-longest streak in school history, with both the second (4 games) and top spots (5 games) well within reach.

- Kierra Jones is on pace to have the best blocking campaign by any Cats student-athlete in the program's eighth year, rising to fourth on the single-season total blocks list (35), fourth in block assists (28), and eighth regarding solo blocks (7).

- Cother jumped Paris Babino's fall 2021 (370) showing for sixth on the assists ladder, edging her out over the weekend to stand at 371.

- Finally, Stamps knocked Jaslyn Bright's 207-dig performance in 2017 off the leaderboard entirely to claim 10th all-time for digs in a campaign, garnering 218 so far.
