PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program took the idiom "shooting the lights out" literally, piling up a three-goal lead heading into the break only to see the stadium fall into darkness at halftime when the power cut out. The match eventually resumed after a delay, the Cats tacked on another score almost immediately following the resumption of play, and cruised to its first shutout of the season, 4-0 versus the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO).

Wildcats Top Performers:
- Adrian Amoros Navarro put up four points by himself within the first 30 minutes against the Drovers, netting the game-winning and opening goal at the 12:04 mark, then assisting on the second and third scores of the game during the 18th and 30th minutes.
- Freshman phenom Pedro Sao Tiago continued his torrid start, recording the third assist of his 113-minute (at that point) collegiate career on Navarro's one-timer before posting a goal of his own shortly thereafter.
- Thiago Lopes kept the barrage of bullets whizzing past USAO keeper Angel Diaz, driving the third goal of the first half into the twine.
- If the visitors from Chickasha, Oklahoma thought that the extended halftime would cool down the red-hot Wildcats, they were sorely mistaken as Duarte Mendes uncorked a missile that found its way home while the lights were still making their way back to full strength, denting the scoreboard for the fourth and final time in the 46th minute as the Cats played keep away from that point forward.
- The netminders were sparingly used as the defense clamped down on the Drovers' offense, combining for a shutout as Rodrigo Silva spent the first 72:16 between the pipes, followed by Otavio Marini for the remainder of the 17:44 in which he made the club's lone save of the evening.
- Ricardo Quintero made his first appearance after transferring over from Webber International, placing a pair of shots on-goal while Juan Sierra assisted Mendes' goal to give him three while playing for Coach Castillo.
Record Book Watch:
Career
- Navarro is putting a cushion between himself and second place on both the points and assists list, upping his total to 72 and 26 respectively, 16 ahead of Sergio Pita Martin (56) for points and 18 in front of the next closest active player for assists, Lucas Lima (8).
* Martin (25) should be looking in the rearview mirror as his stranglehold on the goals crown is shrinking as well with the Spaniard gaining more ground to close within two by tallying goal #23.
* One more note on Navarro, his game-winner gave him four in four years, moving him into a third-place tie with
Shakeem Walters all-time.
- Silva gained a half-point for his shutout tally since he did not play the entirety of the match, but he still sits pretty with a resounding 10.5 career blank sheets, 5.5 and counting above #2 Blaine Bourgeois who had five in his lone campaign on "The Hill" in 2022.
Game
- The four-goal victory tied for the sixth-highest in school history, the dozen points are seventh, and the quartet of assists puts this contest at number five over the 26 years as a team.
