Wildcats Top Performers:

  • The rookie, Pedro Sao Tiago, supplanted the veteran, Adrian Amoros Navarro, for the club's points lead by putting one home in the 62nd minute in what would have been his first game-winner if the Cats could have hung on for the victory. He now joins Navarro as the only two players with multiple goals over the first three contests and recorded his seventh point of the year to jump in front there as well.

  • Juan Sierra doubled his career assist tally that he sported coming into the year after just three appearances, setting up Tiago for the Orange and Blue's lone score for his second assist of the season, fourth of his career on top of a shot taken.

  • Matej Motycka had the only other shot-on-goal for Castillo's men, his first at a four-year institution for tor the Northeast Community College transfer while the final shot attempt came off the toe of Thiago Lopes.

  • Rodrigo Silva seemingly had the deck stacked against him as WCU took 19 shots opposed to LCU's five, saving four of the five on-target balls for an 80% success rate.

Next:

  • Another litmus test will happen on Wednesday in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas when the Orange and Blue look to clip the Williams Baptist Eagles' wings at 3 p.m. as they are a potent threat, receiving votes in the NAIA's preseason poll.
