ALEXANDRIA, La. – The #4 seed Louisiana Christian University softball program stormed back from a two-run, seventh inning hole to tie the ballgame and send it into extra innings, but the #5 Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles scratched out a run in the top half before turning a 5-3 double play with the Wildcats threatening in the bottom of the eighth to hold on for a 4-3 win in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament's 1st Round contest.

Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Bella Houck was one of three donning Orange and Blue to come through with multiple hits, driving in the team's first run of the day with an RBI single that tied things in the third, singling once more and drawing a walk in the seventh which ultimately brought home the tying baserunner from third, Aralee Beene, on the resulting wild pitch on ball four.
Â
- Lexie Marks was the second mentioned above, also producing a 2-of-3 (.667) stat line same as Houck, stealing the Cats' lone base and crossing the dish on the aforementioned RBI base knock in the bottom of the third.
Â
- Brooke Ross made sure the Eagles did not get too far in front, surrendering just two earned runs (three total) over a solid five-and-a-third frames in the circle, walking zero.
Â
- Olivia Coaker followed the same 2-for-3 path, reaching safely a third time thanks to a base on balls.
Â
- Bevan Hartnett came up in a difficult spot, but showed off the ice in her veins, pinch-hitting down two with one down in the seventh and beating out an RBI infield single to shortstop to inch LCU closer.
Â
- Morgan Louviere contributed 1.2 scoreless innings to help usher in some bonus postseason softball, giving up two base knocks and nothing more.
