Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- BreAnna Corkern was a menace to the XULA pitching staff and defense, driving in more than one-third of the team's run production with a bases-clearing, three-RBI double that got the merry-go-round really spinning, before cranking another two-bagger as part of the four-run, game-ending fifth frame.
Â
- Olivia Coaker was the individual who put the final nail in Xavier's season, waving goodbye to a two-RBI moonshot for her third of 2024, walking the Wildcats off into the next round.
Â
- Morgan Louviere started the game and made sure to finish the deal after LCU needed to use three pitchers against the Eagles in extras, giving the bullpen a much-needed rest with a five-inning complete game as she yielded two runs on three hits and three walks as well as a strikeout for her 11th dub compared to five losses.
Â
- Miah Broussard did a little yard work herself, connecting on a solo bomb for her first home run in over three years.
Â
- Jordan Dauthier was 2-for-3 (.667) while being one of two student-athletes to reach base safely thrice (Coaker being the other), poking through two singles and walking once in addition to a run scored, a run batted in, and her fifth stolen base of the campaign.
Â
- McKenzie Montgomery had three plate appearances, but none of them will show up as official at-bats in the box score as they all resulted in a combination of four balls, drawing three walks including one with the bags juiced plus a score.
Â
- Aralee Beene and Lexie Marks both came around to touch home plate twice each with the latter taking a page out of Montgomery's book with a trio of free passes as well.
Â
Next:
Â
- The Cats will get to play the remainder of its tournament run inside the friendly confines of Wildcat Park as its next foe will be the third-seeded and receiving votes Houston-Victoria Jaguars at 11 a.m. in the RRAC Loser's Bracket Semifinals.
