Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Kade Linn came on in relief with one out in the top of the sixth during game two with the Orange and Blue trailing 9-5 . . . he would make sure that deficit did not grow any larger as he tossed 3.2 scoreless innings against a Pilots club that averaged more than ten runs per game in the series. He did not yield a single walk, struck out four, and surrendered just two baserunners for a .154 batting average against.
Â
- Tyler McKenna was the top hitter for Head Coach Mike Byrnes, reaching base five times via four singles plus a hit-by-pitch while hitting .571 (4-for-7) with two scores.
Â
                  * The catcher now owns the team's longest hitting streak of the campaign at 14 consecutive in addition to owning an on-base streak of 19 which leads the Orange and Blue currently and is two off the pace of Brunet's season-best 21 in-a-row that just recently ended.Â
Â
- Adrian Aguilar was the RBI frontrunner for the home nine, driving in three clutch runs including the go-ahead two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth on the front half of the doubleheader that looked to be the series equalizer at the time before the LSUS comeback. The shortstop also contributed the club's only extra-base hit of the weekend, an RBI-double to give Louisiana Christian a 5-0 edge in the fourth.
Â
- Jacob Bareswill got the nod in the nightcap, pitching well enough to win after five full frames where he gave up just two earned runs (four total) and setting down four hitters.
Â
- Harrison Waxley and Braden Trull both hit the baseball hard, combining to go 5-of-11 (.455) for three ribbies, a trio of walks, and two runs scored.
Â
Next:
 Â
- The Cats will need to travel nearly half the distance for its next road series (706 miles one way) than the other three road trips they have already taken combined (1,430) next weekend when LCU faces Southwest (New Mexico) at "The Jake" for a 1/4 p.m. doubleheader (central time).
