Series Opener Ends In A Dud As #2 LSU Shreveport Run-Rules (RV) Wildcats

PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program came into Friday's contest brimming with confidence and ready to roll against the second-ranked LSUS Pilots however, a pair of five-run frames in the second and fifth along with lights out pitching by starter Isaac Rohde led the visitors to a 13-0 decision in seven innings.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Braden Trull held up his end of the bargain as the designated hitter, going 2-for-3 without a strikeout to lead the offense.

  • Leadoff man Adrian Aguilar matched Trull's output, also notching two singles in three plate appearances.

  • Tyler McKenna was a bean ball magnet, reaching base twice via hit-by-pitches and once the old-fashioned way with a single as the backstop keeps both his streaks alive, upping his consecutive on-base to 17 in-a-row and the hitting string to an even dozen (12).

  • The only pitcher to not allow a run, earned or unearned, was Kade Linn, who recorded a fly out plus one of the staff's five whiffs.

Next:

  • The opportunity to get the giant Purple and Gold monkey off their backs arises Saturday afternoon in the form of a noon/3 p.m. doubleheader as the Wildcats look to remain within striking distance for the RRAC Regular Season Championship.
