PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program celebrated and remembered the life of former student-athlete Abby Sterling during pregame ceremonies, making her proud in a game one rout of 11-1 in five before showing resiliency and grit during a game two which saw them fall behind four runs before an out was recorded before almost scraping all the way back in a 5-3 setback.

Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Olivia Coaker had one of the wildest statistical evenings a softball fan might see, going 1-for-3 (.333) with her second home run of the season and a team-high five RBIs while walking four times over seven total plate appearances for an on-base percentage of .714.
Â
- Miah Broussard did damage both in the circle and the batter's box, picking up the victory in game one with three scoreless frames plus a strikeout in which she got her overall record to .500 (7-7) in addition to hitting .750 (3-of-4) with a quartet of RBIs in the process.
Â
- Brooke Ross threw a complete game in the nightcap but will not get credit for one due to coming in after the starter had left, pitching the full seven innings out of the bullpen while ceding one run, four hits, and three walks as she punched out three Bulldogs to keep the Wildcats in the game throughout.
Â
- Aralee Beene became only the second player to record a triple this season, joining Alyssa Landry with a three-bagger as part of her 2-for-6 (.333) twin-bill, scoring shortly thereafter.
Â
- The trio of Jordan Dauthier, Bella Houck, and BreAnna Corkern all contributed a pair of base hits plus three runs scored with Dauthier driving in two on top of that while Houck made her mark in the walk-fest, coaxing three ball fours of her own.
Â
Next:
Â
- Wildcat Park will play host to the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament from Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5 as the Wildcats look as if they will begin their quest for its first championship at the NAIA level as the #4 seed and if that is the case, they would kickoff the action versus #5 Texas A&M-Texarkana at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
