4/22/2024 10:22:00 AM

PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program will host its final regular season contests of 2024 on Tuesday while baseball looks for revenge and tennis eyes its first conference championship.

Tuesday, April 23:

The softball team concludes its regular season against the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs on Tuesday for a 4/6 p.m. doubleheader in what will be a day to celebrate the life of former Wildcat softball player and collegiate coach Abby Sterling, who passed in November. Sterling, who transferred from Louisiana-Lafayette and was a member of the 2018 and 2019 squads, went on to become a well-known softball coach for Arkansas Rich Mountain, Angelina CC, and Texas-Dallas. A ceremony will take place pregame with her sister, Madeline Sterling Vanderweg, being presented a plaque as well as hanging one up inside the Wildcats' locker room. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Abigail Ann Sterling and her impact, she had on the softball community.

Baseball gets one last crack at knocking off McNeese after its near-miss in extra innings on March 6 at Billy Allgood Field, heading down to "The Jeaux" to play the Pokes in their house for a 6 p.m. exhibition matchup.

Friday, April 26:

In its final RRAC series of the year, the home nine make its way to the Texas-Arkansas border for a three-game set with the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles, starting with a 1/4 p.m. twin-bill on Friday afternoon.

Saturday, April 20:

Baseball can earn as high as a two seed in the conference tournament depending on other outcomes around the league, but it will be imperative that they provide a good fight and knock off TAMUT a few times, including in Saturday RRAC Finale.

Women's Tennis:

The women's tennis programs made huge strides in its return to the courts after a lengthy hiatus, winning six games during the regular season as it prepares to turn some more heads when it heads to San Antonio for the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament, which will take place from Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27.
