Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Katelyn Carpenter became the first LCU student-athlete to throw a no-hitter by themselves since Brooke Ross was perfect versus Texas College back in February of 2022, falling just a walk shy of a completely clean slate as she went five innings of scoreless, hitless work en route to a career-high five strikeouts.

  • Olivia Coaker was a hitter's version of perfect as well, going 5-for-5 with six RBIs, two runs scored, a double, and a 1.000 fielding percentage (four putouts, three assists).

  • Morgan Louviere and McKenna Gehr teamed up to keep the visitors from Austin off the scoreboard in the latter half of the twin-bill, as the former got the dub after three frames of one-hit, no-walk softball (one strikeout) before the latter came in to close the door by getting the final six outs.

  • Bella Houck brought the thump, connecting for her team-leading fourth home run of the season, lifting one down the left field line that narrowly sailed to the right of the foul pole. She now has more long balls herself than the rest of the team combined (BreAnna Corkern – 2, Coaker – 1). She tallied three base knocks in four at-bats, drove home three, and scored twice.

  • Lexi Broussard was the final player to record multiple ribbies, doing so in one swing after lacing a rocket between the shortstop and third baseman as Coaker plus Isabel Armand raced across the plate.

Next:

  • The Cats will look to knock the Jaguars of Houston-Victoria from the ranks of the conference's unbeaten (4-0) on Sunday afternoon as the Battle of the Big Cats takes place at 1 and 3 p.m. on "The Hill".
