Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Jarvis was throwing batters up to the plate and game two starter Andrew Yuratich mowed them down, spinning a complete game (7.0 IP) shutout in which he averaged more than a strikeout per game with eight (1.14) in addition to ceding all of three baserunners all day (2 hits and 1 walk).

  • Braden Trull was a RBI-producing machine, driving in five of his teammates (four just in the nightcap) on three hits (3-for-6), two of those doubles, got plunked and scored.

  • Gabe Spedale also picked up a pair of two-baggers . . . in the same contest (game two) . . . coaxing the lone free pass of the opener in addition to a run scored.

  • Adrian Aguilar was a major presence both on and off the scorer's book, logging two singles, one double, a stolen base, a hit-by-pitch and the ultimate selfless act; the sacrifice fly.

  • Jayden Drake was the only pitcher of note in the defeat, whiffing two as part of a scoreless sixth.

Notes:

  • With the victory, Head Coach Mike Byrnes notched career win number 495 at Louisiana College / Christian University, putting him just five away from the historic 500-win milestone.
