McKenna Blasts Three-Run Bomb As Wildcats Take Third Straight Series

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Tyler McKenna joined Brady Sers as the two members of the multi-homer club so far in 2024, getting ahold of one and driving it over the wall for a three-RBI shot, his second of the year. He also added a single and a walk to his 2-for-4 (.500) day.

  • It's not often that a reliever pitches longer than the starter involving a deciding game three of a conference weekend series, but it worked in the Wildcats' favor on Sunday as Braxton Cooksey remains unbeaten after a five-inning, one-hit, six-strikeout appearance out of the bullpen that improved his record to a sparkling 4-0.

  • Adrian Aguilar scored not once, not twice, but three times, roping a double plus a single along with one of the squad's four sacrifice bunts.

  • Dylan Beier got the start on the bump, tossing four solid frames in which he ceded one run on three hits and retired three Jarvis hitters on Ks.

  • Trull and Caleb Duhon both had similar lines, each going 1-of-2 with a sacrifice fly, an RBI, and a run scored while the latter walked once whereas the former drew two free passes.

Notes

  • With the victory, Head Coach Mike Byrnes notched career win number 496 at Louisiana College / Christian University, putting him just four shy of the historic 500-win milestone.
