Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Braxton Cooksey was on fire during his four-inning save in game two, fanning five Rams while allowing zero runs on just two hits and walks in addition to smashing a two-run double in the game one batter's box.
Â
- Noah Gaspard caught the entirety of the nightcap, cashing in both of his hits for two bases on top of a free pass.
Â
- Tyler McKenna was behind the plate in the opener before moving over to the designated hitter role, hitting .571 (4-of-7) with both a solo shot, his fourth to re-tie for the team lead, as well as a double and a sacrifice fly too.
Â
- With Nicholas Brunet's on-base streak getting snapped at 21 in game one, McKenna took the mantle of longest streak at 15 in-a-row to go along with hits in ten consecutive ballgames, both best of the currently active list.
Â
- Braden Trull took sole possession of the squad's home run crown for all of two frames before McKenna squared things back up, connecting on a opposite field, three-RBI deep fly that put the front half of the twin-bill out of reach.
Â
- Cy Fontenot keeps racking up pitching wins as he upped his record to 4-1 for the campaign by tossing five innings of four-punchout work, ceding only two earned runs.
Â
- Gabe Spedale's stats were all over the place, ending up with two hits in four official at-bats, his second dinger of the year, a team-best three runs scored, he got hit by not one, but two pitches, and he also coaxed an old-fashioned walk.
Â
- Harrison Waxley saw his nine-game hitting tear come to an end as well, but crossed into double-figures regarding reaching base safely instead, sitting at one short of a dozen.
