Offense Ends Scoring Drought To Win Game 2 At TAMUSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University softball program ended a 22-inning scoreless drought that dated back four full contests with an RBI single by Olivia Coaker in the top of the first during game two as LCU snapped out of its slump via a 6-3 win on the back half of the twin bill.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Miah Broussard was the stopper in the rotation, halting the four-game slide with a complete game triumph, hurling seven innings and allowing just two earned runs (three total) while tiptoeing around 14 Jaguars baserunners.

  • Brooke Ross was arguably more impressive despite defeat, also going the distance (6.0 IP) as she struck out more (3), less walks (1), and fewer hits (5) with the same number of runs given up.

  • Bella Houck posted two of the club's five ribbies (40%) on the afternoon, crushing a two-RBI double to centerfield that brought home both Candace Hobbs as well as Emma Hunt before scoring the fifth run of that second frame on a wild pitch a few batters later.

Next:

  • It's back to Texas for a much shorter trip to Hawkins on Thursday at Jarvis Christian (1 / 3 p.m.).
