Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Tyler McKenna hit every part of the cycle except for the triple, collecting a game-high four RBIs which included a solo trip around the bases.

  • Andrew Yuratich might've gotten the win to improve to 5-1 but Braxton Cooksey arguably had the better night, striking out four in 2.1 scoreless frames with just three baserunners allowed (2 hits, 1 walk).

  • Yuratich, to his credit, still pitched well, going five-and-a-third with a pair of Ks plus three runs crossing.

  • Braden Trull upped his hitting streak to an even dozen straight, tying with McKenna and Hunter Gotreaux for the team's lead in long balls, launching his third of the campaign as part of a three-run first as well as a sacrifice fly for three total ribbies.

  • Nicholas Brunet has reached base safely an astounding 18 contests consecutively now, poking a pair of singles, taking a plunking, coaxing a ball four, and scoring three runs.

  • Gabe Spedale was the third and final Wildcat to exit the yard, taking his first pitcher deep at Louisiana Christian, going 2-of-4 while scoring, walking, and getting beaned.

  • Harrison Waxley cranked a double and Gotreaux went 3-for-4 (.750) while stealing a base, drawing a free pass, and crossing the plate twice.

Notes:

  • LCU's seventh triumph in-a-row is tied for its longest of the year, sharing that title with its season-opening hot string.
