Alyssa Landry Walks Off a Gold Rush Sweep

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program sweep their home opener against the Xavier (Louisiana) Gold Rush, 4-2 and 8-0 (in five).

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Alyssa Landry went 3-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs to lead the Wildcats in a walk-off style win.
 
  • Bella Houck went 2-for-4 (.500) on the day, singling twice, walking twice, scoring three runs and driving in two including a sacrifice fly.
 
  • Miah Broussard was practically unhittable in the nightcap, twirling a complete game shutout of five innings of two-hit, one-walk softball while fanning four Gold Nuggets to the tune of a .125 batting average against.
 
  • Brooke Ross was also difficult to solve for XULA, winning her fourth contest of the year in the opener with another complete game (7.0 IP) where she gave up just two runs and seven baserunners (five hits and two walks) while sitting down six on strikeouts.
 
  • Lexi Broussard was a run producing machine, leading LCU with a quartet of ribbies during a 2-of-5 (.400) outing.

  • The Wildcats are calling Baton Rouge this weekend in the March Mambo. They will face Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. then Southern at 3 p.m. then the Lady Jags again on Sunday at 11 a.m.
