Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Miah Broussard shook off a tough luck loss to #12 Mobile on Sunday and decided to take it out personally on the Steers, twirling a complete game one shutout in which she gave up just three hits and one walk while keeping the foot traffic to a minimum despite only a single strikeout.

  • She held her own as a batter too, helping her own cause by reaching base all four times she stepped to the plate with a double, a single, two walks, and an RBI.

  • Jordan Dauthier received plenty of opportunities with ducks on the pond and she delivered, going 4-for-5 (.800) with a team-high five RBIs including a bases clearing three-run double.

  • It looks as if the Wildcats' home run chase will be a two-horse race this season between Bella Houck and BreAnna Corkern as both went deep on Saturday for their third and second dingers of the campaign, respectively.

  • Houck's two-RBI blast in the seventh frame of the nightcap got the tying run to the plate while Corkern's opened the day's scoring in the first inning of the first contest.

  • Between the two sluggers, they hit .563 (9-of-16) while amassing 17 total bases, six runs, four ribbies, two doubles, the aforementioned round-trippers, and a base on balls.

Next:

  • After nearly a full month's worth of tournaments and road trips, the Wildcats will finally get to play in front of their home fans on Tuesday against the Gold Nuggets from Xavier (Louisiana) for a 4/6 p.m. doubleheader inside Wildcat Park.
