Price Has Big Night In “Home” Game At The Fort

 
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program competed valiantly in the face of adverse conditions, playing a home contest on your rivals' home court, ultimately unable to cool off the hot shooting Generals in a 82-75 defeat.

Wildcats Top Performers: 
 
  • Freshman McKayla Price had one of her better nights, co-leading the Cats in rebounds (7), smacking its lone blocked shot, dropped a dozen points, and set season-highs regarding both minutes (30) as well as assists (5).
 
  • Just a few hours following the announcement that she won Louisiana Player of the Week, Princis Goff was the team's top scorer with 15 during a combined 20 minutes on the floor, in addition to six boards and a 45.5% (5-for-11) field goal percentage.
 
  • Yahzmynne Andrews eclipsed the double-figure point barrier for the first time in her career, connecting for 11 points and a 2023-24-best four buckets (4-of-5, 80%).
 
  • Both Olivia Scott and Maya Washington rounded out the five LCU student-athletes to go for double-digits, each hitting ten on the dot with the former tying Price for the rebounding crown.
 
  • Jakiya Thompson finally splashed a three-ball in her fifth attempt, putting one in the cup as part of her solid seven.
 
Notes:
 
  • The Orange and Blue knew they would need to take care of the rock to compete and held up that end of the bargain, turning the ball over only 14 times, tying for its lowest total in a conference game this campaign.

  • The opportunity is still alive to slip into the eighth slot of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament in the last week with a strong finish as the Cats now look forward to competing at the team right above them, Jarvis Christian, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
