Wildcats Snap Home Drought by Taming Tigers

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program had dropped its past four tilts inside H.O. West Fieldhouse and its previous eight games as the designated home team, but snapped out of its funk to hand Paul Quinn its seventh straight loss, 75-67.

  • Bryce Weinmunson was Mr. Do-It-All for Head Coach Reni Mason, setting new season-highs for rebounds (7), field goals (6), and assists (4), going 6-of-10 (60%) overall plus 3-for-4 (75%) from distance in addition to having more steals himself (3) than the entire Tigers team (2).
 
  • Devin Carter reached the 20-point plateau for the third time in as many contests, knocking down a personal-best seven free throws on seven attempts, to lead the Cats in scoring at an even 20.
 
  • Braedyn Ellison went off for a career-most five assists on Thursday to top all participants, with his performance made even more impressive by the fact that he had only seven during his 23 prior appearances.
 
  • Jon'Quarius McGhee is heating up as the temperatures cool down, producing season-highs of 12 points, five buckets, plus a pair of triples on top of five boards and a 50% field goal percentage (5-for-10)
 
  • Chukwuemeke Nwaoshai continues to be the premier post player for LCU, notching his fourth game of the campaign with ten rebounds, the only student-athlete on either side to reach double-figures, to go along with eight points and a rejection.
 
  • Drew Tebbe was the fourth and final double-digit point scorer on the evening, pouring in ten points while Joseph Holloway swatted away two PQC shots for his first multi-block outing since coming over from Southern Arkansas.

  • The Wildcats will look to start its first winning streak of the season as it heads into the new year when it welcomes Southwest (New Mexico) at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
