Men’s Basketball Stuns #14 LSU Shreveport For Biggest Win Of Modern NAIA Era, First Win Over Pilots Since 1996

 
SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program finally found themselves on the right side of a one-possession nailbiter, picking up its first victory over a top-15 ranked opponent since COVID-shortened season (March 14, 2021 vs. #10 Mary Hardin-Baylor) and knocking off the 14th-ranked Pilots for the first time in 28 years (December 7, 1996) during a 77-76 heart-stopper in Shreveport.

  • Junior Drew Tebbe was constantly receiving praise from the LSUS broadcaster for making "savvy point guard moves" all night long, leading all Wildcats scorers with 16 points, a career-high six of which came from the free-throw line including numerous clutch makes when fouled down the home stretch.
 
                            * The O'Fallon, Illinois native put together a team-best five assists in addition to three boards and a steal, going 4-for-6 (66.7%) from the field, 2-of-4 (50%) from long-range, and a perfect 6-for-6 (100%) at the line. 
 
  • Jon'Quarius McGhee helped the visitors rack up a superb +21 (44-23) rebounding margin by pulling down a career-most eight rebounds, scoring an equal amount of points to go along with three dimes, two treys, and a steal on the defensive end.
 
  • Devin Carter reappeared following a three-game hiatus, connecting on 5-of-11 (45.5%) overall for 15 points plus a steal and three boards.
 
  • Joseph Holloway went to work during his 17 minutes from off the bench, quickly recording ten points, four rebounds, two assists, was the only LCU player with multiple steals (2), and logged one of their two blocks.
