STAFFORD, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program went through a gauntlet of emotions in the final minute of Saturday's tilt against the Stallions, falling behind by one with 25 seconds left (68-67), moving in front with 15 seconds remaining (69-68), then finally watching Tevin Gowens' layup fall through the cylinder with five seconds to go before the Wildcats' ensuing last gasp effort fell to the floor in vain for a tough-luck loss, 70-69.

  • On a night when the offensive workload was spread fairly evenly, Omarion Layssard emerged as the leading points scorer for Coach Mason, compiling a team-high 11 points on 4-of-6 (66.7%) shooting.
 
  • Drew Tebbe tied his personal-record for single-game assists, dropping six of the squad's 18 dimes (33.3%), recording eight points (two three-pointers), and being the lone Cat with a multi-steal showing (2).
 
  • Bryce Weinmunson was the other student-athlete to reach a double-figure point tally, going 4-for-7 (57.1%) and 2-of-3 (66.7%) from distance to equal ten points in the stat book plus a trio of assists.
 
  • Corey Lombard led all participants with seven boards, swatted Louisiana Christian's one blocked shot and cashed in on all three field goal tries (six points).
