Goff Has 17 Points In 1st Quarter, 28 On The Night During RRAC Opener

 
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program received an otherworldly performance from their go-to woman and saw the momentum swing constantly with ten lead changes as well as four ties, but they came up on the wrong side of an 83-81 decision Thursday night against TAMUSA.

  • Princis Goff was back in mid-season form versus Texas A&M-San Antonio, picking up where she left off in 2023-24 with an insane first quarter stat line of 17 points (8-of-8 on free throws, 4-for-5 from field) plus two boards. She would end the evening with a contest-best 28 points on 8-of-19 (42.1%) shooting, a pair of three-pointers, a 90.9% free-throw percentage (10-for-11) and six rebounds in 28-plus minutes.
 
  • McKayla Price provided some firepower off the bench, contributing 14 points and a half-dozen boards, four of her rebounds gave the Cats second-chance opportunities at the dish.
 
  • Kylei Leblanc may have had a coming out party in her conference debut as the freshman went for 12 points by swishing half of her shots (6-of-12) and just missing out on a double-double with a match-high nine rebounds on top of three assists as well.
 
  • Breyionce George displayed triple threat ability, dazzling the crowd with nine points, eight rebounds, a game-most seven assists, and a steal.
 
  • Jakiya Thompson set personal-records regarding minutes (35), assists (6), and blocks (2) as the 5-foot-6 guard has three more swats in two games this season than she had in her career coming in (0). The H-Town native also logged seven points, five rebounds, and a Wildcat-best three steals.
