PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program played its first match ever as a ranked team and avoided letting their ego cloud their abilities, swiftly taking care of business by shutting out Texas A&M-Texarkana, 3-0.

• While he did not register a statistic in the box score, Joao Pedro Giraldez Franco became the program's all-time career leader in matches played as he donned the Orange and Blue for the 73rd time, making him the iron man of Louisiana Christian soccer.

 

• Pedro Sao Tiago now has three game-winners and three multi-goal games in his freshman campaign, adding to both totals vs. TAMUT with two scores (32:40 and 72:33), a season-high four shots, and his fourth consecutive multi-SOG affair (2).

 

• Thiago Lopes recorded new career-highs of three points and three shots-on-goal, hammering home a late insurance goal (80th minute) while assisting Tiago on the opening score.

 

• Shakeem Walters and Matej Motycka collected their first and second assists of the season, respectively, to go along with two shots apiece, the latter's first time with multiple at the school.

 

• Adrian Amoros Navarro landed both of his shots on-target, Sergio Pita Martin had a 50% ratio on his two attempts, and Lucas Lima launched one shot at the goalie.

 

• Other student-athletes with shots include Ricardo Quintero, Juan Sierra, Dylan Credeur, and Manuel Sosa Villasenor.

• Rodrigo Silva's become the first goalkeeper in program history at any point to have his GAA under one, clocking in at 0.99 right now after 33 matches, thanks to his 13.5 shutouts.

 

• Sao Tiago is making record time in joining the record books, soaring up to tenth in career points after only 11 games with 20 points and his trio of go-ahead goals ranks seventh all-time.

 

• Walters now appears on each of the three main offensive career leaderboards after notching his seventh assist on Thursday, putting him in a six-way tie for sixth.

 

• Amoros Navarro is close to the top of the games played food chain as well, two appearances behind Giraldez Franco at 70 matches overall, third-highest of all-time.
