Olivia Scott Dishes Out Eight Assists, Stallions Defeat Wildcats


STAFFORD, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program had a chance to tie or take the lead late in the contest Thursday evening, but a turnover followed by a technical foul dashed the comeback attempt as North American came away victorious, 74-72.

  • Olivia Scott piled up a career-best eight assists on the night to lead the squad to go along with nine points.
 
            * Scott contributed 44.4% of the club's 18 dimes while she had more assists against NAU than she had during the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign (22 games). 
 
  • DaKayla Howard set a new career-high at 14 points in addition to a yearly high of six field goals and five boards.
 
  • Princis Goff dropped her seventh 20-burger of the season over 11 matchups (63.6%), going 9-for-13 (69.2%) from the court as the squad's leading scorer on top of seven rebounds.
 
  • Yahzmynne Andrews notched her first double-figure rebounding affair of her career with 11 while also knocking away two blocks for her second multi-swat outing.
 
  • Deja Tanks fronted the Wildcats 13 boards in addition to a season-most three dimes while McKayla Price tallied a personal-best 11 points.
 
Notes:
 
  • LCU had its best night from distance so far, cashing in 5-of-8 three-point attempts for a 62.5% conversion rate.
 
  • A usually dependable defensive unit had a difficult time snatching possessions away from the home team, picking up a season-low four steals and 11 turnovers caused.
 
  • NAU held its own on the boards, as the Orange and Blue logged a +8.8 rebounding margin coming into the night, but the Stallions corralled 43 rebounds for the most by an opponent in 2023-24, two shy of the Cats.
