Adams & Cother Notch Double-Doubles In Seesaw Victory Over Centenary (LA)

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program took part in a back-and-forth affair that witnessed 26 ties and 12 lead changes, escaping with a quality 3-1 win over the Centenary (Louisiana) Ladies in non-conference action.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Aniah Adams collected her seventh career double-double and her first of 2023 with a season-best 17 kills (4.25 p/s) and ten digs (2.5 p/s) while also posting campaign-highs for points (18) as well.
 
  • Emma Cother joined her teammate with her second double-double of the year and eighth of her tenure, putting together a 2023-most dozen digs plus 45 assists (11.25 p/s) on top of a season-high four blocks (1.00 p/s).
 
  • Katie Spell had a career evening for the Orange and Blue, upping her personal benchmarks for points to 18 (4.50 p/s) in addition to kills at 16 (4.00 p/s).
 
  • Megan O'Neal also put a new number in her career single game-high category, posting a trio of blocks in addition to a season-high 12 kills (3.00 p/s).
 
  • Kierra Jones had by far her best offensive output of the young season with season-bests regarding points (13.5, 3.38 p/s), kills (8, 2.00 p/s), and aces (2) to go along with five digs (1.25 p/s) and seven blocks (1.75 p/s).
 
  • Carlie Horton went above the double-figure dig threshold for the second time in her debut season with a campaign-best 13 (3.25 p/s) while Leah Stamps dropped 20 digs (5.00 p/s) on her opponent for the first time on the year.
 
Notes:
 
  • LCU set a bunch of season-highs in the triumph, setting new benchmarks for digs (77), points (73), kills (59), assists (51), and block assists (18).
 
Next:
 
  • A short road trip is up next for the women from Pineville as they head just over 200 miles northwest to Texarkana, Texas for a high-flying matchup with the Eagles of TAMUT on Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (12 p.m.).
